Douglas Preston Revisits La Mosquitia with Conservation International

“When we arrived, we found that the animals there appeared never to have seen people before. Spider monkeys gathered in the trees above us, hanging by their tails, screeching their displeasure, shaking branches and bombarding us with flowers.” In the May 21st edition of The New Yorker, journalist (and fellow Honduran rainforest expedition member) Douglas Preston writes about the ongoing ecological investigation into the pristine ecosystem they encountered in La Mosquitia, including the astounding biodiversity Trond Larsen and his team of scientists are finding deep in the heart of the extensive rainforest.
