Amazon Studios Acquires ‘HONEY BOY’ at Sundance

Amazon Studios has acquired Shia LeBeouf’s passion project HONEY BOY. Executive produced by Bill Benenson, Honey Boy made its world premiere on January 25 at the Sundance Film Festival, where it was screened in competition. The film follows child actor Otis Lort, (Noah Jupe) and his law-breaking, alcohol-abusing father James (Shia LaBeouf) as they attempt to mend their fractured relationship over a period of ten years. According to the Hollywood Reporter, Sony Pictures Classics and HBO had also been chasing the film before Amazon landed it.
