House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) and a number of her Congressional colleagues hosted a Washington, D.C. screening of Robert Greenwald’s MAKING A KILLING: GUNS, GREED & THE NRA. The film’s Executive Producer Bill Benenson attended the event, along with producer Jim Miller, who is also Executive Director of Brave New Films.
The film tells the story of how guns, and the billions of dollars generated by the gun industry, affect the lives of everyday Americans. The screening concluded with questions and answers from documentary participants including Kate Ranta, whose own terrifying encounter with gun violence was recounted in the film. She urged the Congressional leaders in attendance to host their own screenings of the film.
Last year, Benenson joined Participant Media in DC to present the Peabody award-winning BEASTS OF NO NATION.
