HBO DOCUMENTARY ‘ATOMIC HOMEFRONT’ STREAMS FREE TO PUBLIC UNTIL MARCH 8TH

For a limited time, HBO is offering free streaming access to the devastating documentary ATOMIC HOMEFRONT, Executive produced by Bill and Laurie Benenson. The film explores the impact of the U.S. government’s decision in 1942 to choose Mallinckrodt Chemical Works, in downtown St. Louis, MO as a uranium enrichment center for the Manhattan Project. Over the next 25 years, 47,000 tons of radioactive waste was transported to the West Lake landfill, later seeping into Coldwater Creek and surrounding communities — communities where instances of cancer are now remarkably high. Further compounding the horror, a fire underneath the earth’s surface is moving steadily closer to the West Lake landfill. Directed by Rebecca Cammisa, the documentary ATOMIC HOMEFRONT exposes the lasting toxic effects of nuclear waste on these communities, and the moms-turned-advocates fighting to keep their families safe.

Viewers can access the free premiere until March 8th by clicking on the embedded link and then selecting “Watch the premiere for free”. Once you enter your email address, the film will begin streaming. The film is also available on HBO on Demand, HBO Go, and HBO Now. Access free premiere here.
