Cynthia Erivo Tapped To Play Lead in ‘HARRIET’

As reported by Deadline, Tony award-winning actress Cynthia Erivo will play the title character of HARRIET, a feature film about the extraordinary life of abolitionist and activist Harriet Ross Tubman. Bill Benenson is executive producer, teaming Benenson Productions with New Balloon and Stay Gold, its collaborators on BEASTS OF NO NATION, and PATTI CAKE$. Erivo won a Tony for leading actress in her role in the Broadway production of THE COLOR PURPLE.
