Sharon Waxman, founder and editor-in-chief of The Wrap, hosted a GrillChat on gun violence on  Thursday, June 23rd. Flanked by Robert Greenwald, the director of Making A Killing: Guns, Greed and the NRA and Richard Martinez, Senior Associate of Everytown for Gun Safety, who lost his son to gun violence, the trio provided sober and thought-provoking insights into the continuing issue of guns and the NRA.

Bill Benenson, an executive producer of Making A Killing, commended the team behind the initiative: “Our thanks go out to Sharon Waxman for yesterday’s GrillChat on the issue of gun violence.  Robert Greenwald and Richard Martinez, whose son Christopher was among six UC Santa Barbara students killed in a gun rampage in 2014, engaged in the hour long live stream, outlining both the pernicious role that the National Rifle Association plays in our society and talking about steps to take to start reversing the ongoing tragedy. “

The interview, which was live streamed on Facebook, had over 15,000 views with a reach of 475,000 people.
